- The St. Petersburg Devil Rays win the Florida State League championship, the franchise's first ever at any level, with a 5-1 win at Al Lang Field over the Vero Beach Dodgers.[1]
2003
- Infielder Rey Ordonez was transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.[2]
- 2003 draft selection Delmon Young was signed to a 5-year Major League contract.[2]
