- Pitcher Mike Duvall was recalled from Triple-A Durham.[1]
- Pitcher Billy Taylor and infielder Aubrey Huff were selected from Triple-A Durham.[1]

- Utility player Terry Shumpert was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 31, with a right hamstring strain.[2]
- Pitchers Jon Switzer and Chad Gaudin were selected from Double-A Orlando.[2]

- Infielder Jorge Cantu and outfielder Joey Gathright were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[3]
- Infielder Damian Rolls was recalled from Triple-A Durham.[3]
