1998
- Completed the November 18 trade for infielder Fred McGriff by sending cash to Atlanta in lieu of a player to be named.[1]
1999
- Optioned pitchers Terrell Wade and Alan Newman to Triple-A Durham.[2]
- Assigned pitchers Vaughn Eshelman and Ben McDonald to minor league camp.[2]
- Placed pitcher Rick Gorecki on the 15-day disabled list (right shoulder).[2]
2000
- Infielder Vinny Castilla was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 25, with a strained left oblique.[3]
- Outfielder Jose Guillen was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 28, with right shoulder tendinitis.[3]
- Pitcher Bryan Rekar was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 31, with a left groin strain.[3]
- Pitcher Jim Morris was recalled from Triple-A Durham.[3]
- Pitcher Dave Eiland was selected from Triple-A Durham.[3]
- Catcher Pat Borders was assigned to minor league camp.[3]
2006
- Pitcher Edwin Jackson and catcher Kevin Cash were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[4]
- Infielders Russell Branyan and Greg Norton were assigned to minor league camp.[4]
- Outfielder Rocco Baldelli (retroactive to March 24 with a left hamstring strain) and infielder Sean Burroughs (retroactive to March 30 with a lower back strain) were placed on the 15-day disabled list.[4]
- Pitcher Shinji Mori was placed on the 60-day disabled list with right shoulder subluxation.[4]
- Pitchers Jason Childers and Ruddy Lugo, and infielder Luis Ordaz were selected from Triple-A Durham.[4]
- Pitcher Tim Corcoran was designated for assignment.[4]
2007
- Pitchers Al Reyes and Gary Glover were selected from Triple-A Durham.[5]
- Pitcher Jon Switzer was transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.[5]
- Infielder Carlos Pena was signed to a Major League contract (replacing the minor league contract signed earlier).[5]
2008
- Outfielder Carl Crawford's contract option for the 2009 season was exercised.[6]
- Outfielder Rocco Baldelli's contract option for the 2009 season was declined.[6]
- Pitcher Dan Wheeler was signed to a contract extension for two years, plus an addition option year.[6]

- Pitcher Jason Isringhausen was selected from Triple-A Durham and placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 31.[7]

- Pitcher J.R. Betts-Robinson and infielder Scott Lawson were released from Short-Season Hudson Valley.[9]

- Pitchers Jay Buente, Nate Garcia, Grayson Garvin, George Jensen, Braulio Lara, Victor Mateo, Jim Patterson, Chris Rearick, Enny Romero, and Eliazer Suero; catchers Keith Castillo, Lucas Bailey, and Mayo Acosta; infielders Derek Dietrich, Robi Estrada, Hector Guevara, Robby Price, and Philip Wunderlich; and outfielders Kevin Kiermaier, Mikie Mahtook, and Cody Rogers were assigned to Advanced-A Charlotte.[11]
- Pitcher Chris Andujar and outfielder Brett Nommensen were placed on the 7-day disabled list at Advanced-A Charlotte.[11]
- Catcher Michael Bourdon was released from Rookie-Class GCL Rays.[12]
