- Tampa Bay named Jackie Brown as their new Major League pitching coach, and Tom Foley as the third base coach.[1]
- Wade Boggs resigned as the Devil Rays' Major League hitting coach.[1]
2007
- Pitcher Jay Witasick was released.[2]
- Outfielder Chris Snelling was claimed off of waivers from Oakland.[2]
- Minor league infielders Kevin Colon[3], Matt Devins[4], and Brad Matthews[5]; and pitchers Matt Falk[6], Paul Moviel[7], and Aaron Walker[8] were released.
