1997
- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays participated in their first minor league spring training game against a Philadelphia Phillies squad, winning 6-0 behind a combination no-hitter thrown by pitchers John Kaufman, Tom Bergan, Matt Williams, and Jamie Ybarra.[1]
1998
- Pitcher Vaughn Eshelman was placed on the 60-day disabled list.[2]
- Pitchers Mike Duvall, Jose Luis Garcia, Jason Johnson, Brad Pennington, and Matt Ruebel, outfielders Brooks Kieschnick, Kerry Robinson, Luke Wilcox, and Randy Winn, infielders Steve Cox, Chris Martin, and Francisco Matos, and catcher Scott Stricklin were assigned to minor league camp.[2]
2001
- Pitcher Delvin James was optioned to Double-A Orlando.[3]
- Pitcher Santos Hernandez was assigned to Mexico City.[3]
- Outfielders Carl Crawford and Chris Hatcher, pitchers Derrin Ebert, Bill Pulsipher, and Victor Zambrano, catcher Paul Hoover, and infielder Ron Wright were assigned to minor league camp.[3]

- Infielders Wilmy Caceres and Damian Rolls, and pitchers Jason Standridge and Matt White were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[4]
- Infielder Ramon Soler and pitchers Brandon Backe, Dewon Brazelton, and Enger Veras were optioned to Double-A Orlando.[4]
- Infielder Jace Brewer was optioned to Advanced-A Bakersfield.[4]
- Outfielders Rocco Baldelli, Carl Crawford, and Josh Hamilton, catchers Kevin Brown and Paul Hoover, infielders Jorge Cantu and Andy Sheets, and pitcher Jon Switzer were assigned to minor league camp.[4]

- Pitcher Bartolome Fortunato was optioned to Triple-A Durham.[5]

- Rule 5 draft selection Nick DeBarr was returned to Tampa Bay by Boston and assigned to minor league camp.[6]
- Pitchers Jeff Niemann and Mitch Talbot were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[6]
- Pitchers Steve Andrade, Tony Peguero, and Andy Sonnanstine; catcher Josh Arhart; infielders Reid Brignac and Evan Longoria; and outfielders Jason Grabowski and Fernando Perez were reassigned to minor league camp.[6]
2012
- Spring Training: Rays (3-7) tied vs. Baltimore (4-4), 7-7 in 10 innings, at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, FL.[7]
