- NewsRadio 970 WFLA acquired radio broadcast rights for the 1998 through 2004 Tampa Bay Devil Rays seasons.[1]
1997
- Pitchers Scott Aldred, Dave Eiland, Daniel Garibay, and Scott Lewis, outfielder Matias Carillo, infielder Alex Cabrera, and catcher Tim Laker were signed to minor league contracts.[2]
2002
- Pitchers Tanyon Sturtze, Esteban Yan, and Paul Wilson were non-tendered, making them free agents.[3]
- Pitchers Brian Fitzgerald, John Frascatore, Mel Rojas, Erik Sabel, and Blake Stein, infielders Brian Lesher and Gabby Martinez, and catcher Hector Ortiz were signed to minor league contracts.[3]
2005
- Pitcher Travis Schlichting was traded to Los Angeles (AL) in exchange for catcher Josh Paul.[4]
