Bowling Green (1-2) salvaged their last game of this series against Ft. Wayne, 5-1: Recap, Box.

Shane Dyer had a good start, allowing 1 run (and no walks) in 5, but didn't get any run support. The Hot Rods got to TinCaps reliever Matt Irsfeld for 3 runs in the 7th to finally get their first win of the season. Brett Nommensen had another good game at the plate: 3 of 4 with a triple and a walk.

Bowling Green (1-3) continued their slow start, losing to the Dayton Dragons in the ninth, 6-8: Recap, Box.

Hot Rods reliever Kirby Yates came into the game with a man on and two out in the top of the 7th, getting a forceout to end a threat and maintain a 6-6 tie. After pitching a relatively uneventful 8th, things started getting hairy: 1B, F7, 1B (and an advance on the throw from LF), IBB to set up the DP, CI scores a run and keeps the bases loaded, and an RBI FC before an F8 ends the inning. Damage done, the Hot Rods can't respond in the bottom of the 9th.

Wilking Rodriguez gave up 6 runs (4 earned) in 5 innings for the start. SS Diogenes Luis went 2-3 with a double and a SB; C Mark Thomas was 2-4 with a HR.

Bowling Green (1-4) has more bullpen issues, as they lose to Dayton again, 4-7. Recap, Box.

If you ignore the 4 combined innings from RPs Jairo de la Rosa and Matthew Stabelfeld, though, things start looking better. SP Kyle Lobstein had five innings in which he allowed only 2 hits and a walk, while striking out 3. DH Tyler Bortnick was 3-5; SS Robi Estrada was 2-3.

Not a lot to like about this game. SP Jason McEachern got his 2nd loss, with 5 runs over 4 innings. Not many hits. However, Deivis Mavarez and Jairo de la Rosa combined to pitch 5 innings of 1-run ball; 2B Kyle Spraker went 3-4 with a run and a SB.

April 16:
Bowling Green (3-6) lost an 11-inning matchup to West Michigan, 9-4: Recap, Box

April 18:

Bowling Green (3-8), extended their losing streak to 3 games, falling again to Lansing, 4-3: Recap, Box

SP Alexander Colome was uneven in his 3rd start of the season: 4.2 IP, and although he only allowed 1 ER, an unearned run scored on his own error (attempting to pickoff Lansing's Bradley Glenn). The loss, however, was pinned on RP Deivis Mavarez for his 2.1 inning, 2 run performance. CF Dustin Biell went 2-4 with a 3B. 3B Julio Cedeno and RF Ty Morrison each had 2Bs.
