I know he's still only 20, but Jesus, Tim Beckham really hasn't given us much to go on.

The closest comp for a top pick in the last few decades is Matt Bush. It hasn't been good so far.

He didn't do anything that really stood out at the game I went to on Thursday. Had a decent shot into the gap that the fielder missed and went for a double, but outside of that nothing really stood out. I don't know what to think at this point, but I do wish he would start putting up numbers that at least suggested future major league contributor.

Too bad that's not a Matt Moore start, but maybe Nick Barnese will be starting Wednesday.

Outside of those two, there's just Tim Beckham as far as true prospects go.

I'd be personally interested in some kind of scouting reports on Matt Bush and Zach Quate out of the bullpen though. I think we'll see at least one of the two in a major league bullpen some day in the future.

Thanks!

Will keep and eye out, and try to provide feed back. Might have to shave up the beard and leave the stash for Rocco.

I had a great time at the game last night. The Stone Crabs won with ease against the Flying Tigers (lol), 5-2. Some observations:

Shane Dyer pitched one hell of a game. I believe he got 10 strike outs. Had great command with the fast ball, and dominated with his off-speed pitches. He pitched a lot of off-speed, mixing in the fastball. Really had the other team off balanced.

Rocco Baldelli started off a little shaky. His first two at bats were outs. But he then turned it around and hit a double and a single. Over all, he went 2-4. Unfortunately, even only DHing, he looked very fatigued after the game.

Tim Beckham is fast with a great eye. Could still use some work at defense, but over all, a great ball player. Should come up the ranks sooner than later.

Isaias Velasquez has a cannon of an arm :wow: . With a man on thrid and two outs, the batter hit a drive just over the 2nd baseman's head. Velasquez was able to run to it, pick it up, and throughout the man at home plate. His bat was not shabby either.

Some one got an inside the park home run...I just forgot, my bad. The outfielder (right side) missed a simple grounder, and it went to the wall. I'm sure you can read about it on the Stone Crabs website.

Zach Quate did come in for the end of the 8th, and 9th. He allowed one home run, but did stirke out 2 or 3. He has some good stuff. Needs to work on his command. Composure is there, along with stamina. He closed it out with little threat. I think in the 9th, he allowed one hit and a walk with one out.

A great game, with a fun atmosphere. I will definitely go back soon. Plus, we had the best heckler by us. Made it that more interesting and fun.

I did get some autographs: One ball has Rocco Baldelli, one ball with Tim Beckham, and one ball with Reid Fronk and Stephen Vogt (a ball for the Stone Crabs, going for the team).

I took some picutres, so when I get them uploaded, I will post a few.
