What's all this?
You are viewing the soft-launch of the new RaysBB, a would-be catalog of all sorts of information related to the Tampa Bay Rays organization into a single, more-convenient location. We aim to provide a suitable location for bringing together a lot of information that is scattered, unorganized or inconvenient.
I wanna help
Let me know with an email to admin at raysbb dot com.
The help of anyone familiar with the (Devil) Rays organization, has experience with the MediaWiki platform, a decent eye for editing and/or data entry is welcome. If you're OK putting together templates and navigation schemes, that's even more awesome. If you happen to have a lot of info on a minor league affiliate or just happen to love one particular obscure player or can expound at-length on the subtle uniform differences between the 2002 and 2003 Devil Rays seasons, we'll find a place for it.
What this is not
- A locker room.
- A free-for all.
- A replacement for Wikipedia, Baseball-Reference, or the myriad of Rays-related fora and blogs.
Future hopes and expectations
- An entry on every player to play in a game for a Rays or Rays-affiliated team.
- Not a novel or anything; at least an acknowledgement of where they played and when in the Rays organization.
- Box scores for all games possible.
- This is no problem for the big league team, thanks to awesome resources like RetroSheet, but it becomes more difficult the lower in the minors and further back you go.
- Researched information that covers a wide range of topics related to Tampa Bay's Major League Baseball franchise.
