Laker holds the distinction of hitting the first home run (of two he hit that game) for Durham in their first game at the Triple-A level.[2]

Laker was later named in the Mitchell Report and admitted to the purchase and use of Deca-Durabolin and testosterone several times between the 1995 through 2000 seasons.[3]
