- Outfielder Jonny Gomes, infielder Antonio Perez, and pitcher Jon Switzer were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[1]
- Pitchers Carlos Hines and John Webb were optioned to Double-A Montgomery.[1]
- Outfielder Delmon Young was optioned to Single-A Charleston.[1]
- Pitchers Gerardo Garcia, Willie Glen, Dicky Gonzalez, Carlos Reyes, Al Reyes, Alan Mills, and Mike Holtz, catcher Mitch Melusky, infielders Jared Sandberg and B.J. Upton, and outfielders Anton French and Joey Gathright were assigned to minor league camp.[1]
